I don’t know about you, but I am intrigued by the internet. When you search for something on Google, it can bring up tens of thousands to millions of instances where a certain thing is mentioned on the web. It would be impossible to search out every one of those websites that mention ‘food’. Sometimes there is so much, it is frustrating. There are people who are worth tens of billions of dollars. I sometimes imagine what it would be like to responsibly spend that kind of money. It makes my brain hurt. And ever since I was a kid, I would think about eternity, and what it means for God to have never had a beginning. I go back as far as I can, and know that He was before that. So I go back farther in my mind, and He was before that. Eventually my brain implodes a little bit, and I just shake my head. We have some active imaginations, but some things are just too difficult to even imagine. There is no way you can get the full scope of it. Today you may have those moments. You try to figure something out, and you just get frustrated because there is no way you can. Have you ever been in that moment where you were trying to tell your spouse, or child, or parent, or friend how much you care about them, and you just couldn’t put it into words? Some things are just overwhelming. You may be overwhelmed right now. And it may not be a good thing. I want you for a moment to be overwhelmed with the things of God. You should understand that there is no way to search out how deep God’s love is for you. You can try, but you will never understand how great His mercy is toward you. There is no way for you to fully grasp what it means for Jesus to choose to absolutely forgive you and forget your sins. His ways are infinite toward you. That is kind of weird when you think of it. God created fish at such depths in the ocean that no one will ever even know they exist… because He is that magnificent and mysterious. There are ways that God cares for us that we will never know about. He loves us that much. My brain is about to implode thinking about it, so I will leave you with some of Paul’s words. “When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” (Ephesians 3:14-19) Be overwhelmed by God today. Your brain may implode a little bit, but your heart will be filled with wonder. And that will be worth it. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
